Event Details
Join us every 2nd Thursday through the summer months for a potluck of finger snacks & grounded circle on money, capitalism, community, and business practices – open to IBPOC or QT folks who are current or future potential entrepreneurs.
Walk-ins are welcome, but please register to save your spot here: http://bit.ly/2GPxoVs
This is not a space for right or wrong answers, but for exploring questions, listening and learning from one another. Can for-profit businesses be truly equitable, and if so, how? Are there options for equity work beyond non-profits? Do you feel abundant and nourished by your business? Do you need support to make changes like finding an accountant, help with marketing, coaching on sliding scale limits or dealing with client cancellations? How much money were you raised on, and how much is “enough” for you today? Who in our communities can we tap for resources and support, and can that relationship feel both equitable and abundant?
Bring two photos or objects that symbolize how you feel about each of these concepts – EQUITY and ABUNDANCE – perhaps how you were raised, how things have changed, or how they feel in your life this year, this week, or today. Also consider bringing snacks to share, items for our community altar, and things that help ground you through difficult discussions or triggers. We will stay mostly loose and cozy. Feel free to wear comfy clothes and yoga mats will be provided plus a limited number of blankets/bolsters/props. Consider arriving 5 mins early to set up and settle your nervous system in the space.
This will be mostly open discussion, possible small group sharing, and with reminders throughout to stay connected with ground, breath, new future visions and an open-heartedness to one another’s stories, privileges, and challenges. *Note that Black Moon Yoga will be held at 8pm for anyone who wishes to linger, stretch and decompress after the discussion.
Donations of $10-20 are appreciated, to help replenish the PMC People’s Fund for affordable bodywork.
