Event Details
Or Emet will host Michal Moskow and Linda O’Malley for a program on the role of American corporate and governmental policies in fueling poverty and oppression abroad. The presentation will discuss how these policies affect migration. Moskow and O’Malley will draw on their experiences as part of a peace delegation to Oaxaca, Mexico, with Witness for Peace, during which they met with migrants hoping to enter the United States and with adults who had been taken as children by their parents to the United States.
Michal Moskow, professor at Metro State University and graduate adjunct faculty at Hamline University, teaches and leads social justice, human rights, and immigrant rights projects. Linda O’Malley teaches and tutors at Metro State University, helps resettle refugee families, and focuses on immigrant policy advocacy at Immigrant Law Center of MN.
Or Emet adult programs are free and open to the public, and meet concurrently with the Jewish Cultural School at the St. Paul Talmud Torah.http://www.ttsp.org/directions
