The fifth annual Taco Tour on Lake Street invites you to discover the spicy flavors of the Latino food district. Tour authentic restaurants that offer their own iconic versions of the Mexican specialty loved by many: TACOS! Named the Best Crawl by City Pages’ Best of 2016 the Twin Cities edition, more than 2,500 people attended the Tour. The 2018 Taco Tour will take place on Sunday, August 5th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Lake Street continues to become an increasingly vibrant and safe destination for its diverse, surrounding communities, with a growing variety of shops and restaurants. With Taco Tour, the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC)  and Utku Productions continue to promote Lake Street as a culinary destination for authentic Latino cuisine — a destination where everybody is welcomed.

Taco Tour is a family-friendly event that allows anyone who joins to be a tourist in their own town. For $2, you’ll join us for a tour of Lake Street (transportation provided) with two great tacos, randomly assigned at an authentic, local restaurant. Participating restaurants will share their specialties with guests, and many will offer unbeatable specials throughout the day (veggie options available). Discover some of the foodie wonders that Lake Street has to offer, and take notes of where to visit once your appetite has returned.

Participants will have the option to bike, walk or drive to the Taco Tour. To reserve their spot, participants will have to register online. We cannot guarantee free tacos to everyone this year, but you’re welcome to ride along in the Taco Tour buses on a first-come, first-served basis.
