With this comic love story about men facing old age. Czech literature teacher Josef Tkaloun (Zderěk Svěrák who is past retirement age, realizes one day that he no longer understands his pupils, and so he quits…dramatically.
Isolated in his city flat with only wife Eliska for company and unsure about how to deal with this new situation, he accepts a position at a refundable bottles counter in the local supermarket as his solution to a decent job, solving what had been the root of his unhappiness. At the center of a city community again, Josef finally finds his way back to his own life. The father-and-son team that made Oscar-winning Kolya such a delight are back in tandem again, Jan Sverák behind the camera and Sverák Sr. as scriptwriter and lead actor. Mama Svěrák also comes in as part of supporting cast.
