Much has been made of the use of new media as an element in the revolutionary activism that is part of the Arab Spring.
But old media has a role too. Not old media as in newspapers, but old media as in, painting your comment on a handy wall.
Hend Kheera is an Egyptian artist and activist who expresses herself this way. She is in the Twin Cities as part of an Arts installation planned by the organization Mizna for this weekend’s Northern Spark event.
The exhibit is called Underpass of the Eyes of Freedom and it happens at the Union Depot.
Moheb Soliman of Mizna and Hend Kheera stopped by KFAI to talk with Paul Brohaugh on The Morning Blend. [Audio below]
