Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty plans to solve the state’s expected $4 billion dollar budget problem through cuts. Pawlenty’s spokesperson Brian McClung says the Governor is ruling out raising any revenue.
Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller says he is willing to consider such a budget, if indeed it is “honest”. Pogemiller has chided Pawlenty for using shifts and accounting gimmicks int he past to make the state’s budget appear balanced as state law requires it.
