The annual election for the Dayton’s Bluff Community Council Board of Directors will be held on Monday, October 17.
Polls are open from:
- 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at 798 East 7th (Dayton’s Bluff Community Council offices
- 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at 800 Conway Street (Dayton’s Bluff Recreation Center)
All Dayton’s Bluff residents age 18 or over are encouraged to vote. Voters can choose two representatives for the sub-district they live in and one for an at-large seat. Write-in candidates are also permitted. The map below shows the layout of the sub-districts.

The board of directors has 18 members, of whom 16 are representatives of the four sub-districts, and two are at-large positions. Sub-district representatives must reside in the sub-district, while at-large members may be either a resident of Dayton’s Bluff, an owner or operator of a Dayton’s Bluff business or organization, or a property owner in Dayton’s Bluff. Nine of the 18 members are elected each year for two-year terms.
Absentee ballots are available if requests are made in writing and signed by the voter at least 10 days prior to the election. Ballots will be mailed to the voter at least seven days before the election and must be received back in the council office by October 17.
Election Day is also the time of the district council’s annual community dinner/meeting, with a community gathering beginning at 5:00 PM, a free dinner at 6:00 PM with an Awards Ceremony and annual meeting. Election results will be announced that evening.
One at-large candidate for the board of directors is needed, as are two candidates for each sub-district. Remember, you can run as a write-in candidate. Encourage your neighbors to write you in and you could win a seat on the board.
Some of the activities the Dayton’s Bluff Community Council has been involved in this past year include: Dayton’s Bluff Neighborhood Clean Up, Block Club Clean Ups, Block Clubs, National Night Out, Walk the Bluff, Greening Dayton’s Bluff and its plantings, Dayton’s Bluff Neighborhood Home Tour, Arts and Culture Committee, Greenspace Committee, park cleanups, and a number of Land Use issues, etc.
