What’s your job?
“Do you remember that sketch from In Living Color with the Wayans family playing a family of Jamaicans who all have a million jobs? That’s me. I work at MCAD and Spyhouse, I do some babysitting, and I do a bunch of freelance writing. Wait, is it creepy to be a babysitter now that I’m almost 30?”
Other than your job, what are your claims to fame?
“Aside from being a totally righteous babe? I am lucky enough to work with the awesome ladies of Paper Darts as the managing editor of the publication. I run the Minneapolis branch of the taco review website All the Tacos I Have Loved, and now I have a super new column beginning in June with the Twin Cities Daily Planet.”
What’s your relationship status?
“I’m married to Bob Algeo, recent MCAD MFA graduate in comic books.”
Where are you most likely to be seen?
“The Aster is one of the only places I go, not only because their cheese plates are cheap as hell during happy hour, but because they host Books and Bars. The Block E movie theater is also a hot spot for me. Going to the movies is really fun, and I think I’m the last person in town who likes to go there so the theater is usually empty. I have a whole photo series of empty Block E theaters. I buy all my comics at Big Brain, duh. Also, Common Roots is a place I’ve been going to a lot. Their truffled mac ‘n’ cheese is crazy good.”
Where are you least likely to be seen?
“Places that don’t have food. And anywhere that a drum circle might spontaneously start. Oh, and places that aren’t my couch, in front of an open Microsoft Word document.”
With what people are you most likely to be seen?
“Oh, you know, whoever wants to buy me tacos.”
Where were you born?
“Parts unknown.”
What neighborhood do you live in now?
“Whittier, Minneapolis.”
What’s your ride?
“I have a real trooper of a bike. But we also just obtained Bob’s car from high school. It has a bumper sticker that says ‘Stop Global Whining.’ The car is like an oracle of advice.”
What’s the best way for someone to start a conversation with you?
“Just say hello.”
