Consumer’s role in sustainability

The 2010 Made in Minnesota Report highlights local retailers and manufacturers that are embracing sustainability as a business model.  Upfront costs can be higher but in the long term, sustainability means efficiency.  But sustainability is a two-way process.  It is also up to consumers to insist upon sustainable goods and services.  Choosing recycled or reclaimed materials, eco-friendly cleaning products, items with limited packaging can help support a market for environmentally conscious producers.
