Thursday, August 8: CSPS Sokol Hall Planning for the Future
Sokol Minnesota has retained the noted architectural firm of Miller Dunwiddie to aid Sokol and its stakeholders to chart a course for the future. The effort is partially funded by the Saint Paul Capital STAR and National Trust and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Fund for Historic Interiors grants.

Thursday, August 8: Kids Class: Local After-Dinner Treats
6:00 – 7:30 pm In this hands-on, kids-only class we will taste delicious, local treats and learn a little about each one. Come with an after-dinner sweet tooth and a hungry brain! This class is intended for kids ages 5-12. $25/$22 members
Tuesday, August 13: Kids Class: Local Taco Turnovers
6:00 – 7:30 pm In this hands-on, kids-only class we will make taco turnovers with local ingredients and learn about how each of the ingredients are made or grown. Then we’ll eat our delicious creations, yum! This class is intended for kids ages 7-14. 25/$22 members
Aug. 3, 2013 Alexander Ramsey House Tours
Noon, 1 and 2 p.m. Experience the sights and sounds of 1849 in this one-hour, family-friendly program. Children (ages 6 and up) and their parents will use a timeline map to explore the Ramsey House and discover the events made 1849 so special. Sample popular foods of the era, learn about the new inventions and technology of the day and learn a popular dance from 1849. Before and after the event, children will be able to create their own time capsule to take home.
August 9: Ramsey After Dark: The Washington Connection
6:30 and 8 p.m. Alexander and Anna Ramsey befriended the most powerful people in Washington D.C., including presidents and Supreme Court justices. In this 75 minute program, hear excerpts from Ramsey family letters and journals detailing the behind-the-scenes drama. From grand galas and private dinners at the White House to presidential inaugurations, the Ramseys had access to the best events that Washington could offer. Ramsey After Dark explores specific historical themes and topics in new and creative ways, presented in an intimate evening setting.
August 29: History Happy Hour: Brewing in Saint Paul
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Socialize and have a beer at the Ramsey House while learning about the history and tradition of brewing in Saint Paul. Mark Stutrud, founder of Summit Brewing, will talk about the growth of the industry, the effects of prohibition and the current state of beer and brewing in Minnesota’s capital city. Governor Ramsey’s collection of beer bottles from some of the city’s oldest breweries will be on display for the occasion. This program is for people 21 years and older. Price of admission includes 2 drink tickets, snacks and presentation at 6 p.m.

10:30-11:15 Sister Kathleen will be here again to lead us through a series of energizing exercise. Through tensing and releasing the tension of various muscles of the body you will feel a new flow of energy. This will be enhanced with simple yoga and deep relaxation.
