With the help of Sauce Soundbar music for this year’s festival is better than ever. But before you work yourself into a sweaty, mosh pit, I-need-a-shower-but-who-cares lather, listen to the big picture. The festival is Sunday, May 16 at – of course – Lyndale and Lake.
Going on the second year of its revival after a long hiatus, Lyn Lake Fest has already received rave reviews and additional events. The festival kicks off at 9 a.m. with the “Rides of Spring” bicycle rally. Two routes are available with exercise and trivia tests along the way for riders to have an opportunity to win various prizes. The tour ends at Lyn Lake where Caffrey’s subs and other food and beverages will be provided at the Bike Corral finish.
Starting at noon will be The Mood Swings followed by E.L.nO. at 1:30 p.m., Mark Mallman at 3 p.m. and Sims (and Lazerbeak and Mictlan of Doomtree) at 4:15 p.m. Throughout the festival there will be fire jugglers, Strider bike races and an art car show. Stick around for the headliner, Har Mar Superstar, should be a real rumpus at 5:30 p.m. And don’t forget to look for take-out food specials at local bars and restaurants in Lyn Lake.
