Since I was a child I had always wanted to be an active member of my community. I know the best way to strengthen and protect your community is to speak out and encourage others to do the same. Living in a peaceful and vigilant community makes enjoying your home and family much easier. You don’t have to worry about safety, dangers, etc.
But since I moved almost every year of my life growing up I never was able to settle my roots. It was not until 2 years ago that we bought our first house on the edge of N Minneapolis! This not only started a new chapter in my life but allowed me to really take a personal stake in the community. Within the first 2 years I have planted a Bilingual Church, I have become not only my block leader but an executive director of NRRC, which is the community organization of my area.
If every person would make a decision to a personal stake in their community, the world would be a better place.
