Last summer, eight young women spent six weeks at the KFAI studios in an intensive radio journalism program called “Youth News Initiative – Girls of Color Voicing their Choice.” The young women learned how to interview, record, write, and edit audio stories.


Tonight’s piece is by Annika Williamson, who is 14 years old and lives in Brooklyn Center. Her story focuses on the media’s perception and influence on the meaning of beauty and how that affects teens.
