Buy Black, But Don’t Lower Your Expectations

Do you ever wonder why Hollywood makes comedy’s about the “Black” way of life? Hollywood mocks our path; we must take it very seriously. After having a great meal at a local Black-owned-and-operated restaurant, I decided to go home and watch a DVD movie. The movie, Undercover Brother, a Universal, Imagine Entertainment release staring comedian Eddie Griffin, was about the on-again off-again struggles of the Black man’s effort to build an infrastructure within today’s society that provides growth, wealth and independence. Conversations for Not – UROC/UNP

Attention North Minneapolis residents, buisness owners and organizations – when will enough be enough? This is an email message sent out by Ms. Shereen Sabet, Executive Administrative Specialist from the Office of the Senior Vice President for System Academic Administration – University of Minnesota Twin Cities for folks to attend these “Vital Community Meetings”.The Free Speech Zone offers a space for contributions from readers, without editing by the TC Daily Planet. We have to ask, “Who are the members of the Vital Community Group” and what is the mission? Dr. McClaurin has made it clear that the University of Minnesota is not a “social service agency” and groups seeking grant monies or technical assistance are being referred somewhere else.
