An English and theatre teacher of thirty-one years.Over the years I've learned a cruel lesson about privilege served in the name of equity. This lesson has come through demonstrations of employment image building, personal politics and public finance that have removed learning, community and humanity from the institution we call education in America. None the less, I will dearly miss my students when I retire. They have taught me that those with the least have the most to give.Born in New Jersey, and raised and schooled in Delaware, Minnesota and Colorado. While I love Minnesota, I am very clear in saying, "I'm not from here."I'm an avid reader of both the classical canon and contemporary, multi-dimensional texts. I am particularly fond of Austen and Hardy, as well as Garcia Marquez and Morrison. I love my garden and my bikes, though the body cannot handle the miles or speeds it once did with ease.
