Since leaving its permanent space last year, the gallery Art of This has kept a fairly low profile. Plans were for the gallery to continue its programming—consistently among the most adventurous, fun, and stimulating in the Twin Cities—in various spaces around town, and that has in fact happened (especially at the gallery’s new “Dressing Room” venue), but never with as much buzz as surrounded the events at the gallery’s former Nicollet Avenue space.
This year, though, Art of This seems revitalized, and is looking to come back with a bang for a two-month return of its One Nighter series of installations. Plans are, according to the gallery’s website, for the series to be held in a yet-to-be-announced temporary space from September 1 through October 31. To support the series, the gallery is looking to raise $5,000 on Kickstarter. The perks for donations range from “the best of electronic thank you mails” ($10+) to “a simple yet classy award ribbon” ($50+) to an artist-cooked dinner ($500+). Most importantly, though, a donation to the series is a good investment in local art.
