THURSDAY PICK | “Art in Bloom” brings nature’s majesty to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Artists have their own ideas about what’s beautiful, but every once in a while it’s nice to mix it up with some (more or less) natural beauty. That’s the idea behind the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ annual Art in Bloom event, which this year takes place from April 25-29. Over 150 floral artists will be working with the MIA to fill the galleries with fresh colors.

The event also includes lectures, fashion, and snacks; if $20 for a boxed lunch seems a little spendy, consider that the proceeds go to benefit the MIA’s programming throughout the year…and $20 is less than the recommended donation asked merely to enter the Met. At the MIA, all you have to do is walk past the Vitrine of Guilt.
