Based on acclaimed cult novelist Chuck Palahniuk’s source material, Choke is a wickedly dark comedy about sexual compulsions, historical theme parks and the importance of a loving mother and son relationship.

At night, Victor Mancini (Sam Rockwell) runs a scam at high-class restaurants around town where he deliberately chokes to form pathetic relationships with the wealthy patrons who “save” him. During the day, he works at a historic theme park and visits his mother Ida (Anjelica Huston) in a private hospital under the watchful eye of beautiful Dr. Paige Marshall (Kelly McDonald). When Ida mentions that she knows the truth about Victor’s missing father, Victor embarks on the hunt to solve the film’s central mystery. Choke won the Special Jury Prize for the work by an ensemble cast at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
