True Colors Bookstore

True Colors Bookstore was formerly Amazon Feminist Bookstore and Amazon Bookstore Coop. The name changed in 2008 when the Coop retired and a new owner took over. We specialize in diverse and unique children's books, feminist and cultural studies books, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer fiction and non-fiction.We feature work by local artists and authors, and host many free events.
In 2010 WCCO selected True Colors as one of the 10 best independent bookstores in the Twin Cities.

The store has been locally owned for over 40 years, and is the oldest feminist bookstore in North America, if not the world. In 1994 there were over 120 feminist bookstores in the US and Canada, and now there are just 13 of us remaining.
