Central Corridor Coalition wins national grant

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman announced in June that the city won one of the four grants being offered municipalities by the Ford Foundation. St. Paul’s grant is for development planning around the Central Corridor light rail line. Coleman said that the Central Corridor represents a “$1 billion investment opportunity that will forever change the face of St. Paul.” MORE »

Summer is closer and nothing highlights summer like the official Rondo Days parade, day-long festival and drill competition in St. Paul. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Rondo Days, one of the largest African American festivals in Minnesota. MORE »

Central Corridor Line faces stiff opposition in St. Paul

Government and city supporters of the proposed Central Corridor Light Rail Transit Line linking the St. Paul and Minneapolis downtowns are optimistic that the new mode of transportation will bring economic growth to University Avenue, the thoroughfare that will support the new transit line. MORE »

Back on track at Hallie Q. Brown/MLK Center

In 2009 The Hallie Q. Brown/Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center (HQB) will celebrate 80 years of service in St. Paul’s Summit- University neighborhood. This year the organization will be taking on new challenges. In order to meet those challenges the organization expects to make several key changes and has hired a new executive director to continue their original mission of providing much needed services to the community.
