Japanese Tea Ceremony Performance
FREE tea and sweets will be served. Come to one or more of the 6 tea ceremonies (4:30- Thick tea ceremony, 5:00- Unohana box ceremony, 5:30- Thin tea & Standing bow ceremony, 6:00- Flower box ceremony, 6:30- Tray tea ceremony).
Bamboo Carving Workshop
Professor Watanabe will demonstrate bamboo carving techniques and will give a lesson on carving CHASHAKU 'bamboo tea scoop', one of the utensils used to scoop tea in the Japanese tea ceremony. Participants who have signed up in advance will learn how to carve their own bamboo tea scoop. Unlimited observers are welcome to come and watch.
Commemorative Tea Ceremony
Tea ceremony in commemoration of the bombing of Hiroshima at Lyndale Park Peace Garden. Music by Arden Consort, ceremony by Yukimakai Tea Study group begins at 6 p.m.
