Creativity, Culture and You! summer program for kids

07/17/2011 - 5:30pm - 07/21/2011 - 8:00pm

Kids from preschool through sixth grade can explore diversity through music, art, games, folk tales and fun July 17-21 at C²U, or Creativity, Culture and You!, a summer program offered jointly by Falcon Heights United Church of Christ and North Como Presbyterian Church.

Summer Camp: Eating from the Wild

06/28/2010 - 12:00pm - 07/01/2010 - 3:00pm

In the marsh, prairie, and woods of Dodge, grow the ingredients for some great dishes from 'the wild.' We'll gather, prepare, cook, and eat such tasty treats as Swamp Soup, Itchweed Surprise, and deep-fried cattail on a stick. It's time to take your tastes to the wild side.

This camp is for children entering 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade.

Summer Camp: Scat, Tracks, and Signs

06/28/2010 - 12:00pm - 07/01/2010 - 3:00pm

We know they're out there, yet we don't always see them. What's this? Has something been digging here? How? Why? Through games, hikes, and art you'll learn how to decipher the storeis ANIMALS leave behind. Be forewarned -- you may even become a 'master' tracker!

This camp is for children entering first or second grade.

Summer Camp: Cooking in the Outdoors

06/21/2010 - 8:30am - 07/01/2010 - 3:00pm

Recipe: Out in the woods, build a fire under the biggest stewpot you can find. Roast tasty morsels over the fire. Add fresh vegetables. Mix in treats, snacks, and stories, and play a game or two. Makes one awesome summer camp!

This camp is for children entering first or second grade.

**Pre-registration and pre-payment is required**

Woolly Bears: Rock and Roll

06/16/2010 - 10:00am - 11:30am

Introduce your preschool aged child to the wondrous natural world. Topics will be explored through creative storytelling, music, puppetry, and more. Children will also have an opportunity to visit with live animals. Each class includes a short hike outdoors, so please dress for weather conditions.

What are you going to do this summer?

It’s one of our truest clichés: love or hate it, the cold reality of the long Minnesota winter makes summer seem like a far-off figment of the imagination.MORE »
