Friends of the Mississippi River is looking for classrooms and community groups (of 15 or greater, 4th grade on up) to participate in the storm drain stenciling project, marking storm drains with the message "Please don't pollute, drains to Mississippi River" in Saint Paul and distributing educational door hangers.

Full Moon Snowshoe Hike
Enjoy the beauty of a winter's night on snowshoes! Watch as the moon rises to light our way as we trek over prairie, on frozen ponds, and through forest dark. Snowshoe history and technique will be covered by your naturalist guides. A warm beverage will be provided following the program.
Recommended for ages Kindergarten through adults. Pre-registration is required.
Portland Cello Project FREE Show on Cedar Cultural Center Patio
Savor the summertime sweet sounds of the massed cellos of the Portland Cello Project, outside on the Cedar patio! As likely to play Bach as Arvo Pärt, Britney Spears, or Manuel De Falla, the group will have you seeing the cello in a new light.

Summer Camp: Fort Friday
The title says it all! In this camp we will build all kinds of forts and shelters. We'll use tarps, sticks, and sheets to make our creations around the nature center. Creativity is key as we build our way through the day.
This program is designed for children entering 1st or 2nd grade.

Summer Camp: Farm Fun (June Session)
Enjoy a week 'down on the farm.' Each day you'll help with chores like collecting eggs and feeding the animals -- maybe you'll even get to jump in the hay! We'll go up the hill to fetch a pail of water at the well, cook up a big farm breakfast, and have fun with all there is to do in the barn and the chicken coop.
