Director Denis Côté Present
Expertly crafted, evocative images pull us into rural Quebec's beguiling winter stillness. Curling tells the story of one father's (Jean-François Sauvageau) attempts to keep his daughter in complete isolation, hoping to spare her the scars he knows too well.
While the outside world looms large for these characters, what lies within the frame is of utmost importance in director Denis Côté's austere thriller. Minimalism and surrealism blend masterfully, creating a haunting quiet that lingers long after the credits roll.
Winner, Best Director, Best Actor, Locarno Film Festival; Best Canadian Film, Vancouver International Film Festival; ‘Canada's Top Ten' at Toronto International Film Festival.
