About me

Bruce Johansen is programs manager for the Twin Cities Media Alliance, in charge of overseeing classes and various community engagement efforts. An active resident of Minneapolis’s Seward neighborhood, Bruce serves on the Seward Neighborhood Group board, writes for the Seward Profile, and is collaborating with several other residents on a neighborhood history book. 

 

Favorite Places: 
Neighborhood coffeeshops, bars, and cafes. In Seward, Precision Grind, Tracy's Saloon, and Birchwood Cafe are a few favorite hangouts. I've always loved travel, whether it's to cities or small towns. Chicago is a longtime favorite destination.

Waite House director sees more people in need in South Minneapolis

Francisco Segovia, director of Waite House Neighborhood Center, fled his native El Salvador in 1990 during the civil war there. When he arrived in the United States he was undocumented and spoke little English, which limited the opportunities available to him.
