About me

A baby boomer who never wholeheartedly embraced political activism, yet always was leaning to the progressive causes. Unwilling to relinquish his country to the authoritarian conservatism that has risen to power over the last thirty years, he is taking on a more public presence to promote positive and truthful discourse. Less attempting to persuade ideologues, he hopes to encourage reasonable people to join in denouncing the falsehoods and misleading statements of any group or individual. He has faith that collectively the world has more decent people then corrupt souls, but the honest must not remain uninvolved.

So a misanthropic recluse is speaking out.

MayDay 2012, a monster Party

MayDay Parade, Ceremony, and Festival was postponed one week due to weather, but the celebration was as festive as possible on the Second Sunday in May. The warm weather lead to an Irish parade

Unseasonably warm weather got me motivated to check out the parade on a Saturday evening. There may be a touch of Scots-Irish in my genetic background, but it is predominately German. But the gathering of people for a Parade provided a destination for a bike ride. During the summer of 2007 I became enmeshed with photographing a mural that was being painted on the side of Freewheel Bicycle in the West Bank area of Minneapolis. As I was traveling the Greenway to and from the West Bank I crossed Hiawatha Avenue at 28th Street and saw the installation / construction of the Martin Olav Sabo Bridge.MORE »
