Northeaster

The Northeaster has been published since 1978, and has been owned by Pro Media, Inc., Kerry and Margo Ashmore, since 1981. It initially circulated only in the Northeast section of Minneapolis, which is north of downtown and east of the Mississippi River. In 1983, the adjacent suburban cities of St. Anthony, Columbia Heights and Hilltop were added to the Northeaster's every-home, twice-monthly circulation.

October opening possible for Plymouth Avenue bridge

The long process of fixing the Plymouth Avenue Bridge will take even longer than was planned when the job was financed last fall. But if all goes according to plan, cars might start using the bridge again in October, two years after it was closed.
