The Minneapolis Observer

The Minneapolis Observer blog is the successor to the Minneapolis Observer Quarterly, which was described as: "A quarterly journal of nature in the city, local history and literature, and urban miscellany, focusing on the natural geography of the city of Minneapolis (though we do stray into St. Paul often enough). Too often the idea of urban is paired with concepts like gritty or hard; we, however, are more interested in the soft-around-the-edges-built-for-comfort-not-speed kind of urban. Living an easy bike ride from the library, hardware store and coffee shop, for example -- that kind of urban."

Free Speech Zone

The Free Speech Zone offers a space for contributions from readers, without editing by the TC Daily Planet. This is an open forum for articles that otherwise might not find a place for publication, including news articles, opinion columns, and announcements. The opinions expressed in the Free Speech Zone and Neighborhood Notes, as well as the opinions of bloggers, are their own and not necessarily the opinion of the TC Daily Planet.
