An entity calling itself “Classical Mechanics” produces this show, but it’s really Midwest Youth Dance Theatre from Roseville, MN, a close-in suburb of Saint Paul.  MYDT is a studio/school with a long and honorable history.

In comes Sara Stevenson Scrimshaw. Tawny and glorious Sara. She is long of limb, impeccable of line, clean of technique, and masterful of presence. She delivers a solo that includes a surprise or two and the consumption of what is reputed to be high class whiskey.

Minnesota Fringe Festival: Nuance is earned

This show – mostly dance but a certain amount of text and song – is a loose collaboration among four women who have something to say.  It holds together remarkably well, despite lack of a clear and tangible underlying thread such as narrative or topic or style. The four separate pieces are all clearly distinct from each other, but somehow they belong together.
