Three months of New Years

The Karen Burmese New Year began December 19, with memories of refugees still waiting in camps in Thailand. Tradition mixed with anime and manga at the Japanese Shinnenkai celebration in January. February will bring the Vietnamese Tet New Year on the 17th, followed by the February 18th Chinese New Year of the Pig. Twin Cities Daily Planet's community partners, Asian American Press and Asian Pages introduce the New Year celebrations:
