St. Stan’s Annual Food Drive
On the weekend of July 19 and 20, St. Stan’s will be having its Annual Food Drive Collection to support those in need in the West 7th Street Community. On the weekend of July 12 and 13, the Social Justice Committee will be handing out grocery bags and lists of most needed food items. Cash donations will be accepted. The Salvation Army uses the cash donations to purchase food from Second Harvest, which is then distributed to those in need. Thank you for your generous support for this great need among our neighbors.

Friday, July 11 Driver Safety class from AARP refresher course
8:45-12:45 Fee: $20, for AARP members (must present your AARP to receive discount) $23 for non-AARP members. This classroom training program is designed to help persons 50 and older improve their driving skills. Course completion is required to initiate auto insurance discounts. Auto insurance companies in most states provide a multiyear discount to AARP graduates! No written or behind the wheel tests will be given. Classes are intended to be non-threatening, interactive and informative. Instructors are trained volunteers Please feel free to bring a snack or lunch. Wednesday, July 23 Lake Pepin Paddleboat Cruise with Keystone Senior Programs
Bus leaves West 7th at 9:15 am, return around 4:00 pm $45/person
Join us for a Lake Pepin summer boat ride on the Pearl of the Lake Paddleboat out of Lake City, Minnesota. The Pearl of the Lake is an authentic replica of the paddlewheel boats that plied the Mississippi River in the 1800’s. Enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Pepin, the largest and most scenic lake on the entire Mississippi River. Wildlife and eagles are just some of the things typically seen on the excursions.
Before cruising we will stop for lunch at the Skyline Restaurant in Lake City located on the water by the Lake Pepin paddleboat. Our luncheon options will be the walleye (broiled) sandwich or the reuben sandwich with chips, pickle, beverage and dessert.
