March Longfellow business news

We’re starting up a new monthly feature here at My Broadsheet – Longfellow Business News. Businesses are opening, growing, moving, closing – and we want to make sure you know about it.

Without further ado, here’s the March business news update:

  • 38th Street Flowers moved to 40th St and Minnehaha Ave. Why the move? The building that they were in previously was sold. We talked to flower shop owner Steve who said he wanted to stay in the neighborhood, and was able to find a new location a couple blocks down Minnehaha Ave. While he said the transition to a smaller space has been a little challenging, they made it through Valentine’s Day, their busiest day of the year, and are now settled in their new space.
  • Speaking of the building at 38th Street and Minnehaha Ave., it will soon be home to Riverstone Salon & Spa which is currently located at 33rd Street and 42nd Avenue. Salon owner Tamie plans to have the new location open in April.
  • The musical chairs continues with Flourish (our new neighborhood pilates studio) that will be moving into the Riverstone Salon space on 33rd St and 42nd Ave in April.
  • Kong’s Restaurant on 2910 E. Lake Street plans to close at the end of the month due to lack of business. Kong’s welcomes the community to come in for a meal before they close the restaurant.

If know of a business that has moved or opened – or if you hear of other news – let us know and we’ll follow up. Shoot us an email at tips [at] my-broadsheet [dot] com.
