Downtown Minneapolis' future transportation hub, the Interchange, takes shape

The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners has awarded a $72 million dollar contract to Knutson Construction to design and build something called “The Interchange” – a public space and transportation hub in downtown Minneapolis. The idea is to create a space where two light rail lines, the Northstar Commuter Rail, bus routes and bike and walking trails all intersect. Peter McLaughlin is a Hennepin County Commissioner and one of Minnesota’s foremost advocates for public transit. He talked with Bob Hines and Michelle Alimoradi on the KFAI Weekly News.
