Summit Hill Plant Exchange June 9 offers a great way to find local, hardy plants

“I always look for local plant exchanges, as that’s where I get healthy plants that thrive in this area,” said one avid gardener at last year’s plant exchange.

The Plant Exchange is in its fourth year in the Summit Hill neighborhood, and has offered residents a variety of herbs, annuals, bulbs and perennials to choose from.

From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the front lawn of Linwood Rec Center will be filled with local plants to exchange and gardeners will be on hand to supply information about plants, pests and plant health. Join us at the Linwood Rec Center on Saturday, June 9th!

Don’t forget check out the Sam Morgan Prairie on the bluff east of Linwood Rec Center. And if interested in joining other volunteers who have been working to restore this ancient bluff prairie remnant, contact SHA at 222-1222.

Plant exchangers; please bring your plants for exchange between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. Friendly reminder: we recommend that you divide and pot plants you’ll be bringing to this event at least a couple days before - so they have time to recuperate from the transplanting. Hope to see you there!
