Candidate Forum Announced for Senate District 66 Special Primary

March 22, 2011

In advance of a March 29th special primary election, the Minnesota State DFL will sponsor a forum featuring the three candidates that filed for the seat being vacated by Senator Ellen Anderson. Senator Anderson was recently appointed to the Chair position of the Minn. Public Utilities Commission by Gov. Mark Dayton.

The candidates are:

John Lesch, state representative from St. Paul since 2003 and lawyer with the St. Paul City Attorney's office;

Mary Jo McGuire, a state representative from Falcon Heights and St. Paul from 1989 to 2002, a promoter of civic education in schools.

Steven Marchese, lawyer and the pro bono development director at the Minnesota Bar Association;

The winner of the primary will run against Greg Copeland, 612 East Cook Ave., former Maplewood City Manager and the endorsed Republican candidate in the April 12th general election.

The event will be take place from 10AM - 12PM at the Carpenter's Union Hall, 710 Olive Street, St. Paul.
