FREE SPEECH ZONE | Lobby group gives Klobuchar $1 million
Billionaires for Wealthcare visited Senator Klobuchar's Minneapolis office Friday to present the Senator with a million dollar check in appreciation of her refusal to take a position on the Public Option. Billionaires around the country are optimistic that spending $5,000,000 weekly on Congress is successfully defeating meaningful healthcare reform.
Unfortunately, Klobuchar's staff was reluctant to be publicly videotaped accepting the million dollar contribution. Her Director of Constituent Services, Kali Cruz, repeatedly requested the Billionaires to come into a private room without a camera so that the privacy of people filling out job applications would not be violated.
Senator Klobuchar has courageously refused to listen to the two thirds of the American people who back a Public Option, a Medicare for all proposal in the healthcare reform legislation. The Billionaires applaud her leadership in not releasing a position statement on the Public Option. There is a lot of constituent pressure to support a Public Option, but Klobuchar is wisely taking into consideration the millions in campaign contributions made by the Billionaires and the healthcare industry.
Billionaire representatives Mrs. I. M. Rich and Mrs. Dee Regulation gushed over the fabulous lifestyles they enjoy as wives of healthcare industry executives. They each have multiple homes, private jets, and yachts - courtesy of an industry that makes enormous profits from denying people medical care.
They bemoan any reform legislation that would limit health insurance profits. Mrs. Rich was ecstatic about the potential for profits if everyone is required to have health insurance and there are government subsidies. However, the Billionaires agreed that passage of a Public Option could have disastrous effects on the billions in profits enjoyed by the health insurance corporations.
Mrs. Regulation expressed her admiration that Senator Klobuchar is doing corporate work without the salary and stock options enjoyed by corporation executives. "I have so much admiration for Amy's willingness to help our corporations while living on the meager salary of a Senator. She has been simply marvelous in her support of corporate America. "
Billionaires for Wealthcare expressed the hope that they will be able to deliver another million dollar campaign contribution to Senator Klobuchar again later in the fall, when the Public Option and meaningful healthcare reform are successfully defeated.

Love it!
The Billionaires should check their facts
Two thirds of Americans don't back a public option. If that were the case, Democrats would have already passed the legislation, since they don't even need a single Republican. If the Billionaires took the time to do a bit of research into this issue, they would discover that the insurance companies are squarely behind the Democrats in this effort because it means that they will make even more money off Americans when everyone is forced to carry health insurance. They speak vaguely of government subsidies for insurance which translates to higher taxes for all who actually pay them (the middle class). They generalize about cake eating executives wifes flying around in private jets, but don't mention all the elected Democrats who support the public option who enjoy the same amenities at my expense. I've never flown on a private jet, much less purchased a 1st class ticket, by my tax dollars certainly have. Just ask Nancy Pelosi and her pals in the Congress, Harry Reid and his cronies and our Commander in Chief, Barack Obama. Hell, I helped pay for PA Congressman John Murtha's own private airport to the tune of $150M. If the Billionaires really want to know when the trail of insurance money ends, they would do better to look to the folks I just mentioned. Queen Nancy recently held a very nice private get away for her pals in the insurance business. According to OpenSecrets.org, in 2008, contributions to Senators were McCain, Obama & Clinton, in that order. Of Congressmen, 7 of the top 10 were Democrats, headed by Dems, Rangel, Kanjorski & Pomeroy. Ironically absent from the 2008 & 2010 lists is Amy Klobuchar. I think the Billionaire Bimbos need to offer Amy a sincere apology for their lack of research & their colossal stupidity. What they should be demanding is reform of tort litigation & opening up competition across state lines to save Americans billions of dollars on healthcare. Making healthcare affordable is their goal isn't it?
My bad. My Apologies to the Billionaires for my misquote
Amy Klobuchar received $23,800 in 2008 from the insurance industry, compared to $2.4M for McCain, $2.2M for Obama, $1.2M for Clinton & $857K for Dodd. In the 2010 cycle, Amy received $7K compared to $155K for Schumer, $111K for Dodd, $89K for Grassley & $88K for Reid. Clearly if Amy can be had for a mere $7K, a bunch of folks at a kegger should be able to raise enough to buy her back.
