Holland Neighborhood News and Events

The Holland neighborhood is in the center of Northeast Minneapolis and is part of the NE Minneapolis Arts District.  The neighborhood has modestly-priced homes and a mix of businesses including: professional services, pubs, bakeries, art space, convenience stores, auto related businesses, social associations and restaurants. Lowry, University and Central Avenue are the neighborhood's main commercial areas and have frequent transit service.  Many in the neighborhood can conveniently walk or bike to Edison High School, Northeast Library, and Jackson Square Park as these amenities are located in the midst of residential development.

THURSDAY PICK | "Los Cuatro Ases" raise a plethora of questions about Latino art

With a bold and impressive array of programs and partnerships, Franconia Sculpture Park has been reaching our from it east-central Minnesota base to become one of the state's fastest-growing influences in the world of visual arts. They've recently opened a satellite gallery space in the Casket Arts Building, and on May 3 it will play host to a discussion of Los Cuatro Ases, an exhibit of sculpture and paintings by four Latino artists. Collaborating in the presentation will be Grupo Soap del Corazón and Douglas Padilla's Salon Artissimo series. Expect meaty discussion around issues of art and identity.

Yang will run for Hennepin County post
