Cleveland Neighborhood News and Events

Due to the Cleveland Neighborhood's proximity to downtown Minneapolis, Maple Grove and Golden Valley, the neighborhood is a favorite for commuters who are looking for a residential community that is close to work and conveniently located to key shopping districts.

Hennepin County's renovation of Lowry Avenue will be complete by 2010 and will offer opportunities for new commercial and housing development. This corridor is being studied for potential light rail expansion as part of the Bottineau Transit Corridor.

Victory Memorial Parkway, a part of the City of Minneapolis' Grand Rounds, runs along the western border of the neighborhood, was declared an historic district and offers 3.8 miles of tree lined walking and biking trails. Theodore Wirth Park is just minutes south on Victory Memorial Parkway, providing recreational activities such as golfing, skiing or hiking.

Neighborhood community activities include Live on the Drive, a community planned music event, annual garden tour, National Night Out, block clubs and other social opportunities. Regional activities include several arts events and art crawls, live local music, community theater and performance arts.
