CARAG is a distinctive and exciting city neighborhood located just minutes from downtown Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes—including Lake Calhoun, which is within walking distance. The neighborhood includes a mix of single family homes, small and large apartment buildings, churches, a park and small businesses. The CARAG area is well known because part of the community lies within the trendy Uptown and Lyn Lake business nodes—giving residents and visitors many opportunities to eat and shop at unique establishments as well as visit art and theater spaces. Photo by Keegan Xavi

When I got to the Smitten Kitten this past Tuesday night it was cold, like really cold. The temperatures in February are winter's final “fuck you” before spring starts, and because of this I didn’t expect many people to pack the house. The atmosphere at the Smitten Kitten is always warm and welcoming, and after some hot pepperment tea and delightful conversation I realized that having an intimate talk with three artists and an audience of about 15 to 20 was perfect.
