Do you want to know which House members will serve on the health committees in the 2013-2014 biennium? Which members will play key roles as members of the energy or education committees?
That information for all 29 committees and divisions is now available online.
Also available online is the committee schedule showing that, for example, the House Civil Law Committee will be meeting twice a week at 8:15 a.m. and the House Taxes Committee is scheduled to meet at 12:30 p.m. three days a week.
Committees are where the bulk of the legislative activity takes place in the early weeks of the legislative session. According to a brochure from the nonpartisan House Public Information Services Department, “The committee holds public hearings on bills to put each bill into its best form. During the bill’s hearing, the committee can take testimony from the bill’s sponsors, the general public and experts in the areas the bill affects.”

Updated contact information on the 2013-2014 members-elect is available online under the members-elect tab.
The Member’s Directory, often referred to as the “Green Book,” is scheduled to be available in mid-February. Included in the directory is committee information and contact information for all 134 House members and 67 senators.
