Minneapolis School Board Elections

UPDATED 8/20/2012 Candidates on the November ballot:

District 2: Kim Ellison

At Large: Carla Bates and Doug Mann

District 4: Patricia Wycoff and Josh Reimnitz

District 6: Tracine Asberry

---

In 2010, the rules for Minneapolis School Board representation were changed to provide for election of six members by district and three at-large members. In 2012, the transition will be complete, and the school board will reach a total of nine members, with elections for western Minneapolis districts 2, 4 and 6 and one at-large member. The three geographic districts use Park District boundaries.

Kim Ellison currently serves on the board after being appointed to fill a vacancy, and will be running for the District 2 (North Minneapolis) position. She is running unopposed.

Carla Bates, an incumbent finishing her first term, Doug Mann (who has also run in the past), are running for the citywide at-large seat.

Josh Reimnitz and Patty Wycoff are running for the Southwest District 4 seat.

After a spirited four-way contest in District 6, Tracine Asberry is the only remaining candidate.
