Community Voices

Community Voices is a space for reader contributions—including news articles, opinion essays, and personal stories—moderated, but not edited, by Daily Planet staff. This new section includes stories from the Our StoriesOur SceneNeighborhood Notes and MN Videos series, as well as republished posts from E-Democracy forums and unedited articles such as those formerly published in the Free Speech Zone (which this section replaces). This section is a forum for community members to share their voices directly with our readers. We invite you to post stories, send us stories, or suggest stories for inclusion in Community Voices.

The opinions expressed in Community Voices are their own and not necessarily the opinion of the TC Daily Planet.

Want to add an article to Community Voices? Here's how:

Step 1: Register as a TC Daily Planet user, which is easy to do. After registering, you need to respond to the registration email. Then just log in by clicking in the blue box in column 1, and click on "Write an article" in the blue box in column 1.

Step 2: Either I'll see the article waiting to be published, or you can email me (editor [at] tcdailyplanet [dot] net) to tell me it's there. I'll then add the "Community Voices" designation and publish it.

Step 3: I'll add it to the newsletter for at least one night, and it will remain in the Community Voices feature box on all pages until several more people have published Community Voices articles. (Hard to tell how long this will be, but usually at least a couple of days.)
