Twin Cities Bike Walk Week
Summer is just around the corner--and so is Bike Walk Week! This year's celebration of biking and walking in the Twin Cities is packed with more events than ever before! Enjoy events for cyclists and walkers of all ages and ability levels, in neighborhoods and cities across the metro. Many events are free, and a few others benefit causes and organizations near and dear to the local community. Event highlights include the first ever Northeast Ride, the Bike-Walk Jingle Concert, Tour de Cure, Minneapolis Open Streets celebration, Bike-in Movie Night, Bike to the Saints Ballpark Day, the Bike Comics Show, Tiny Trips Tuesday, Women’s Wednesday, Midtown Greenway Coalition's Greenway Glow, Minnetonka Bike Expo, and Bike Walk to Work Day with the national release of new bicycling "forever" stamps. Bike Walk Week is about biking and walking for fun, for fitness and health benefits, and for transportation. Take the challenge: pledge to replace at least one car trip with bicycling or walking June 2-10. Even if you already bike or walk to get around, register and be counted (and have a chance at great prizes). Learn more about daily events and register at www.bikewalkweek.org.
