TCDP TOP PICK: You don't need to be an art expert to appreciate All My Relations Gallery. You don't have to be Native American, either, though, it probably wouldn't hurt in terms of understanding the rich images that, from exhibit to exhibit, are fascinating. At any rate, the new exhibit, Make It Pop, opens February 15 with an evening reception and runs through May 4. Make it Pop features the works of twelve Native artists whose work responds to, is influenced by, or incorporates aspects of popular culture in their practice. These artists utilize their artistic abilities to express modern relationships with popular culture, especially as they relate to the unique circumstances of the Native American experience. — at All My Relations Gallery.
The artists featured offer an exciting array of medium and style. From painting and printmaking to ceramics and metalsmithing, coupled with a wide range of tribal and geographical representation, this exhibit offers a fresh and exciting perspective on the gems that the Native art world has to offer.
