TCDP TOP PICK | Dennis Spears presents "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons: The Music of Nat 'King' Cole" at the Capri Theater
02/16/2013 - 7:00pm
02/17/2013 - 3:00pm
TCDP TOP PICK: Given the mark Nat "King" Cole left on American music, it seems impossible that he died at the age of only 45. Yet that's the reality; Cole was just that good. There are few performers in Minnesota better able to capture the spirit of the man and his music than Dennis Spears, who takes the Capri Theater stage on February 16 and 17 under the auspices of his own Capri Legends series to bring Cole alive again. - Jay Gabler |
For the past five season the Legends jazz series has brought some of the Twin Cities' most acclaimed musicians to the Capri stage. Under the artistic direction of Dennis W. Spears, the Legends series is comprised of weekend concert programs presented 7 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
