Styles For Smiles 2013

02/16/2013 - 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Project Healthy Smile along with Twin Cities boutiques Kokoon, Local Motion and Primp are pleased to announce they will kick of MN Fashion Week with a lavish afternoon of shopping, pampering,  fashion and fun for a very worthy cause. Styles for Smiles 2013 is Project Healthy Smile's largest annual fundraising event, which allows co-founders Hollie Mae Schultz and Michelle Patterson to bring dental supplies to children who desperately need them in Haiti, Uganda, Cambodia, Vietnam and other impoverished countries around the globe. Styles for Smiles 2013 will take place on Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at Maki Strunc Studios in Golden Valley.

Styles For Smiles 2013 will feature a fabulous fashion show with fresh spring looks by Kokoon, Local Motion, & Primp, an exclusive private shopping experience at a pop up boutique, mini-makeovers & free false eyelash applications that guests can wear out on the town that night, an interactive photo booth, face painter for the kids, games, a raffle, wine, hors d'ouvres and music.

An alluring alternative to shopping at the mall, fashionistas can view vibrant looks on models and purchase them right then and there, in the Maki Strunc Studio modern pop up boutique. And most importantly, a portion of the proceeds from the clothing and jewelry sales will directly benefit Project Healthy Smile, to bring oral health education and dental supplies to impoverished and underprivileged children globally.

Styles for Smiles 2013 will take place from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Maki Strunc Studios, located at 6156 Olson Memorial Highway, Golden Valley, MN 55422. The event is free but a $5 donation at the door is suggested. HMStyling will be styling the event. There will be mini-makeovers and eyelash applications by Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios. And new this year, the first 50 people to make direct donations to Project Healthy Smile will receive VIP gift bags. There will also be a raffle and donation booth to raise money for Project Healthy Smile.

Project Healthy Smile co-founders Hollie Mae Schultz and Michelle Patterson will travel to orphanages and children’s organizations globally. Recent missions have included stops in Haiti, Uganda, Vietnam and Cambodia. Children will be educated on oral health. Education will include the importance of oral health, diet, and brushing/flossing methods. PHS will use educational models, visuals and activities to keep children engaged in learning. Caregivers will be educated and trained to aid in the continuation of program sustainability.Dental supplies (toothbrushes, tooth paste and floss) will be provided for children to stay compliant with oral health. PHS plans to continue to work with organizations and replenish dental supplies every 6 months.
