St. Paul Sakura (Cherry Tree) Centennial Celebration

St. Paul has received twenty cherry trees from the country of Japan in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 1912 gift of cherry trees (sakura) to Washington, DC. Dignitaries from Japan and the US will join Mayor Chris Coleman in planting the final ceremonial tree near the Mannheimer Memorial in Como Park. The event features Japanese music and dancers. Also, the Japanese Garden will be open after the ceremony.
