South Africa- Torture and Apartheid

Join World Without Genocide for an event and film screening about the end of apartheid in South Africa. We will screen 'Long Night’s Journey into Day', about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa and the challenges associated with forgiveness post-conflict. Dr. Steve Miles will make remarks following the film. Dr. Miles specializes on the topics of medical ethics and the ethics of torture and testified against South African Dr. Wouter Basson, a physician known as “Dr. Death” for complicity to torture during the apartheid regime.


 The screening and discussion are open to the public and no reservations are necessary. Free to students and seniors, $10 general public. PLP credit available for William Mitchell students. 2 CLE credits pending.  The event will be held at William Mitchell College of Law, room 245 (auditorium).
