TCDP TOP PICK | The Sounds of Mexico at Washburn Library

01/19/2013 - 11:00am - 12:00pm

TCDP TOP PICK: One way to fight the winter blahs is to travel South of the Border, but if you can’t do that, you can spend an hour at the Washburn Library. La Familia Torres-Peña will inspire thoughts of arroz & frijoles, tres leches cake, huevos rancheros, and more as they perform Mariachi and other traditional Mexican songs using a variety of instruments. They’ll also throw in a few songs that show that Mexican music is not oblivious to the pop world. It’s early in the day, it’s family-friendly, and it’s free. - Larry Englund

The Washburn Library has been part of the Hennepin County Library System, since the 2008 merger of the Hennepin County and Minneapoli
