Seniors: American Swedish Institute Mansion Tour

Come step back in time with us as we head to the American Swedish Institute and experience the only castle in the Twin Cities, the historic Turnblad Mansion. Before our tour, we will enjoy smorgas, the traditional Swedish open-faced sandwich, along with soup, dessert and coffee. Following our lunch, we will explore the exquisite 33-room mansion from top to bottom, including detailed wood carvings, sculpted ceilings, and hand-crafted Swedish tile stoves. The mansion will be beautifully decorated to celebrate the season in true Scandinavian style. On our way home, we will make a stop at Ingebretsen’s, an Old World marketplace for fine Scandinavian gifts, foods, clothing and needlework, since 1921! Fee: $35 includes tour, lunch, transportation and escort. 10:45 Pick up at West 7th Community Center, return approx. 3:00.
